Sportives are very popular in France and there’s one each weekend in June. They are all great events and serve a perfect training for the Marmotte or Etape in July. If you wish to take part during your stay we can organise your registration and transport. Information on each sportive can be found in the Sportives Section, for bookings and prices please contact us using our Enquiry Form below.
At the front end the sportives here are very much a race rather than a social ride, however they don’t have to be. There is normally a medium and long choice of route, great food stations en route and a good meal at the end. Your bib number goes in a raffle for some top prizes, and podiums and prizes for those at the front of the pack which makes for a fun atmosphere.
Late May
The full route takes you all around Lake Geneva through the city of Geneva itself as well as Lausanne and Montreux. While it isn't closed roads the traffic is marshalled and cyclists generally have priority and respect from the drivers.
First Weekend of June
Time Megeve is an absolute classic on the calendar and is made pretty tough by cut off times for each distance. The route alters each year and has taken in Col de Pres, Col de la Colombiere, Col des Aravis and the Col des Saises.
Mid June
The long route takes in 2 of our absolute favourite climbs, Col de Joux Verte and Col de Joux Plane, with our favourite valley, the Vallee Verte linking them together. The Tour de France arrived in Morzine in 2016 over the Joux Plane, so this is your chance to check it out with a full days riding in your legs!
First Weekend of July
A great challenge and perfect training for those planning to do the Marmotte or the Etape. Well organised and easily the best value for money.
